Approach

I studied art before I studied photography, first in a darkroom and then in abstract oil painting, and both still show up in how I work. The pictures are timeless and a little editorial, but they are built out of things that actually happened rather than things I arranged.

I take on twelve to fifteen weddings a year. That number is deliberate. It means we can talk through your timeline properly, that I know your venue before the day, and that your gallery is not sitting behind thirty others. My team brings over twenty-five years of wedding experience between us.

Outside Iowa I photograph across the Midwest and abroad, and I lived in Barcelona twice between 2016 and 2024, which is where most of the travel work started. Every wedding ends the same way it should: an heirloom album, and wall art for the rooms you live in.
